E-Bus Project: Lima, Peru2022 Winner - Energy Globe National Award - Peru

Project leaders: Hydro-Québec & Enel X
Our e-bus project in Peru introduced the first electric bus into Lima’s official transit system in December 2019. The 12-metre bus operates on one of the busiest arteries in the city for a period of two years. Charging infrastructure for the bus was also installed, forging the way for future roll-outs of this technology.

The main objective of this pilot project was to demystify the e-bus technology for local policymakers, transit operators and riders, and to encourage the integration of more electric buses into the public transit system.

Solar and Storage Project: Colonia Delta, Uruguay

2022 Winner - Energy Globe National Award - UruguayProject leaders: Hydro-Québec & Enel
GSEP launched one of the first projects integrating batteries to the national power grid in Uruguay. The project consisted of the installation of distributed energy resource (DER) systems using photovoltaic panels, batteries and remote monitoring technologies in one typical dairy farm in the Colonia Delta community.

As Uruguay just recently authorized the integration of batteries to the grid, the project aimed at creating a learning experience for the Uruguayan power utility, leading to broader integration of batteries coupled with renewables and strengthened energy security in the country.
