1992 James Bay Inaugural Summit

The Partnership’s Chairmen first met in April 1992, under the e7 name, in Hydro-Québec’s facilities in James Bay, Québec, Canada. The purpose of this meeting was very broad, to discuss the environment, global warming and the development of the electricity industry. The James Bay Joint Statement was signed on April 9, 1992 and was the basis for the creation of the e7 Network of Expertise for the Global Environment, the predecessor of the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership.
