2003 Washington Summit

The 2003 Summit was hosted by American Electric Power in Washington, DC, and brought together the Chairmen of the then nine member companies. During the Washington meeting, Chairmen finalised plans to construct a micro-hydro power plant to bring electricity for the first time to Chendebji, a small remote village high in the Himalaya Mountains. Two major new publications were released during the Summit: Guide to Implementing Projects Under the Clean Development Mechanism and the Renewable Energy Technology Diffusion report, the latter of which presents the findings of the 2003 annual theme, technology diffusion for sustainable energy development.
