Hydro-Québec is a vertically integrated utility that is publicly owned by the Québec government. The company’s 19,794 employees serve over 4 million customers in Québec. Total installed capacity (renewables accounting for over 99% of generation) from the 87 generating stations equals 36,912 MW, with total electricity sales of 201.1 TWh (in 2015). Hydro-Québec’s hydroelectric developments also include 27 large reservoirs with a combined storage capacity of 176 TWh, as well as 668 dams and 98 control structures. In 2015, Hydro-Québec’s revenues amounted to approximately CAN 13.754 billion.
