Our Commitments to UN's SE4ALL

In line with our mission to promote sustainable energy development, our Chairmen proudly pledged commitments as immediate contributions to the United Nation’s Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL ) initiative.

Led by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, SE4ALL aims to mobilize key actors around the world in an effort to make sustainable energy for all a reality by 2030.

Our commitments to the initiative, announced during the UN’s Rio+20 Conference in June 2012, are:

  • To provide 50,000 solar lanterns in partnership with the Global BrightLight Foundation in order to increase clean electricity access to off-grid households [More];
  • To expand our current capacity building workshops in developing countries in order to help develop local, regional and sub-national capacities and improve the understanding of local circumstances [More]

The UN is calling for greater business sector involvement in achieving its goals, and some of our Chairmen are leading the way with their participation in the SE4ALL High Level Group on Sustainable Energy in charge of mobilizing commitments to the initiative.

Through these commitments and our regular activities, we will continue to show our strong support for the UN SE4ALL initiative, aspiring to take on an increasing role in facilitating energy access by 2030 with other organizations ready to join the campaign.
